Rebranding
Glendale Group is a Canadian construction, engineering and functional design company based in Mississauga, Ontario. Their logo was outdated and their graphic materials did not have any pattern. The challenge was to do a rebranding, modernizing the logo, but still keeping the graphic aspect of the forms that reflect the initials. The request was also to not lose the company’s nature and the solidity of the former logo.
The idea was to bring graphic elements that refer to engineering and architecture concepts, adding cubic forms and straight elements that belong to the business. I also got inspiration from the architectural perspectives, widely used in the company and in this industry.
The result was keeping the G as the central element as requested, but creating a double view to the letter to add the vision of a cube at the same time, referring to architectural concepts. I chose three different tones of blue to enhance the cubic perspective and also to bring confidence and trust, concepts that are aligned with the color. The main font (“Glendale”) is more conservative and stronger to bring the strength and solidity of engineering and construction. The secondary font (“group”) is lighter and elegant to highlight the architectural concept, and I also used a vibrant color on it to bring a touch of originality of modern architectural projects.
